Town Planner
After a change? Come join our dynamic team in the heart of northern NSW. Newton Denny Chapelle is a long established and respected Town Planning, Engineering, & Surveying consultancy headquartered in Lismore and Casuarina. We are keen to hear from you if you are considering a new role or location.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Town Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate must have experience working in NSW, preferably on the north coast, and will be excited to work on a wide range of challenging and interesting projects.
Responsibilities:
- Independently lead and manage complex planning projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and government agencies.
- Provide high-quality accurate advice to clients on planning and development matters.
- Prepare and review Statement of Environmental Effects, Environmental Impact Statements, Planning Proposals, Modification Reports, Clause 4.6 Variations, Planning due diligence reports, etc.
- Mentor junior planning staff.
- Management of specialist consultants and their outputs.
- Quote preparation and invoicing.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in town planning.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in town planning.
- Experience working in New South Wales, preferably on the north coast.
- Experience in leading and managing projects from inception to completion.
Experience in briefing and managing external consultants. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to hit the ground running.
